As a registered dietitian, I aim to mend the gap between knowing and doing. Nutrition is an individualized experience. It has to fit YOUR lifestyle and you must understand the why behind the actions your are taking. The reason I went into dietetics was rooted in my past disordered eating and distorted view of health and nutrition. After both my undergraduate and master's degree studying nutrition, I was able to fully understand nutrition and break free from the trap of diet culture. I believe everyone has the right to want to lose weight. I also believe the key to reaching weight loss goals, general health goals and building confidence starts with improving their relationship with food. Like a lot of things in our society, nutrition culture has become very "all or nothing": you either focus on food freedom or on weight loss. I am here to tell you it is possible to have both. How do I know this? My clients have achieved this!
